The newly renovated course is in great shape. The greens are beautiful and they created more elevation. They added more bunkers to protect the front of the greens. Three lakes are full that were not hazards before. New tee boxes allow for more variation of shots needed. The clubhouse has been renovated with nice outside patios. Practice greens are perfect. Riverside is one of my favorite trails courses.
I played the Riverside Golf Courae today and it was fantastic. The changes made to the clubhouse, parking area and golf course were very nicely done. The main fairways were very nice and the greens were great as well as the tee boxes. Overall a well don’t remodel to the course. I’ll be playing here more often.
The course was in much better condition than the 3 other courses we have played this year. Unfortunately I missed that it was pull carts only and was definitely not prepared for pulling a cart for 18 holes. It is a fun course and a pretty course. We look forward to returning when carts are allowed.
The new design of holes 16 and 17 are much appreciated by this golfer. Hopefully when the weather allows for increased growth of grass throughout the course , Riverside will be a very popular destination. I look forward to returning many times.
Riverside golf course renovation is top-rate. The greens are impeccable and very fast-perfect, but, demanding of your speed attention. Great pace of play for walkers at this time. Fairways and tee boxes are growing out, despite heavy winter rains.....just wait until spring green-up with a little sun and warmer weather. Going to be one of the best courses in the city.
This course Is a local favorite and my dad taught me how to play golf on the par 3 back in the early 80s so I have a soft spot for it. I played the updated Riverside today and I have to say I enjoyed the improvements. It’s winter so there are still a few bare spots filling in so you will need to keep that in mind but overall well done Alamo Golf Trail. Great job with the new tee boxes, greens are smooth and rolling quick and most of the fairways are looking great. I’m looking forward to playing it in the Spring when the course is fully grown in.
May I make a suggestion. In areas away from the fairways where it’s just dirt because of tree cover and a long ways from sprinklers like 15 if I remember correctly. Fill those areas with mulch. It’s going to be next to impossible to keep grass growing so mulch it or fill with crushed granite, even zero scape it. The way it looks now is an eyesore.

Played my first round since the course reopened. The upgrades to the course and clubhouse are good. I found the condition of the course itself to be a big disappointment. After being closed for nearly a year, there are still big areas of dead pan in the fairways. I would have much preferred more emphasis on improving existing course conditions. It is like getting a new bike with old parts that don't always work. Sure, you can ride the bike, but it is not as enjoyable.
Renovation of course is nice. Greens are really nice, and t boxes are in good shape. For the most part the fairways are in better shape than ever. Just disappointed that course just reopened and there are alot of hard pan dirt bare areas in fairways and around them.
The newly reopened Riverside is a great asset for our city. The grass will benefit from another growing season but the layout is vastly improved. The green complexes and fairway bunkering have added a new challenge that the course previously lacked. The clubhouse also got some nice upgrades.
The woman at the counter was the grouchiest attendant I've ever seen at a golf course. Normally they are all smiles. It's a walking only course so that was frustrating and then to make matters worse their carts that they rent out are the worst push carts I've ever seen. There is no strap to secure the bag to the cart, and there is no front wheel. Yes you heard that right you have to perform a balancing act with no strap for 18 holes.
With all that being said I really liked the actual golf course. It was a great course!
